Curse of Tamerlane

Curse of Tamerlane
The future great leader was born in 1336 in the Mongol Barlas tribe and, as legend has it, his hair was white as snow, and in his hand from somewhere took gore. Name Timur was on hearing from 1370, when he managed to achieve success and conquest conquered the area between the rivers Kashkadarёy and Zarafshan. Soon Tamerlane already possessed a vast territory: in the composition of his government entered areas of the Amu Darya river, the Syr Darya and Chirchik. As a result of brutal campaigns against the neighboring countries joined Timur Khorezm, patted Golden Horde, Asia Minor, India and Iran.

After defeating the Horde, Iron Hromets brought to the forefront of the capital of their state - Samarkand, which has become an important point of the caravan route from Europe. He formed a powerful empire, from the Aral Sea to the Persian Gulf, from India to Armenia. Until his retirement Tamerlane made campaigns, one of which, China, and died in 1405. For a long time there were disputes between scientists over the place of the great ruler of the ancient burial site. The major "contenders" were native village Timur Cash and Gur-Emir in Samarkand, where the remains of Tamerlane's son Shah Rukh and grandson Ulugbek. It was decided to carry out excavations in the Gur-Emir.

Excavations began not quite been scheduled: 16th of June there was an accident during the construction of the nearby hotel "Intourist", and the water began to fill the tomb. An urgent need was to do something that the remains have not deteriorated. In an emergency state of emergency has been neutralized. Soon the first expedition uncovered the coffin, began to soar through the air smells wonderful: it flavors burst forth from the closed coffin. Then I was born the legend of the Timurid spirit, or rather, of Tamerlane.

The remains of Timur's son Shahrukh poorly preserved: the time and the flood took his. Bones Ulugbek better preserved. It was identified by the fact that the head was cut off: it is executed so the grandson of Tamerlane, because he had betrayed the faith for the sake of astronomical research. On the tomb of Tamerlane, in addition to many of his name was engraved warning wishing to open the sarcophagus. "Naruvshy Timur covenant will be punished, and break out the cruel war all over the world", - reads the inscription. Threatening words cooled the ardor of the researchers, but nevertheless it was decided to open the tomb of June 21, 1941.

Implementation of the opening of the tomb of Tamerlane went wrong at once: broken winch, spotlights went out, breath in the tomb became difficult. Involuntarily among scientists there was talk of the curse and the spirit of Timur. In a break between jobs on opening the tomb to Malik Kayumov came elders and asked, how's it going. Elders show the operator the book in which it was written that if you open the coffin Timur war begins. Kayumov turned to their elders, but no Aini nor Semenov, despite the chain of unexplained phenomena, the prophecy did not believe, even though in their souls, as mentioned above, the fear crept in.

After meeting with the old tomb still opened: the embalmed body remained bad - there were only bones. Man lying in a coffin, was tall, with a big head. Shin was mutilated, one of the dorsal vertebrae, as in all Timurid deformed. Do scientists were no longer doubt: in front of them lay Tamerlan!

Joyful, archaeologists went to the hotel, where the next morning on the radio to hear the sad news: the Great Patriotic War. The participants of the expedition was a shock, as soon as everyone remembered about the mysterious elderly and their book. We try to find - in vain. Could not help even the locals. Scientists had no choice but to hastily fold the camp, taking specimens obtained and drive to Tashkent. And so it did.

After some time, Kayumov came to the front as a military statement. The thought of the tomb and the old warning not let him rest, so he tried his best to inform about the mysterious events of the authorities. It was possible to meet Zhukov, who promised to help, but it is clear that something went wrong. It was only after the second meeting of the commander and the cameraman case moved the ball rolling: everything learned Joseph Stalin.

In recognition of the need to return the bones Iron Hromtsa and his descendants in the Gur-e Amir was immediately put MM Gerasimov, who worked with the remains of the Timurid, recreating the look of an ancient dynasty. The works have been accelerated and quickly completed, so that the bones were ready to return to Samarkand. However, were there not once, but disappeared for a month. Rumor has it that the plane containing the ashes of the Timurid flew along the front lines, predetermining the victory of Russian troops at Stalingrad. It should be noted that in a similar way to the heavy parts of the front appeared miraculous icons, then the success was on the side of the Soviet troops.

The remains of Timur and his relatives (Shahrukh, Ulugbek Muhammadsultana, Miranshah) were buried in Samarkand, December 20, 1942. Soviet troops if only this and waiting a few days after releasing Stalingrad. Again, coincidence? It is possible the way it is, and no mystical beginning of this story has not. At the very least, much exaggerated in the movie, and there is a subjective note: still the protagonist of "The Curse of Tamerlane" - Malik Kayumov, who could embellish the mysterious story and fit some significant events for the beautiful fairy tale story.

An interesting version of Anton Shabashova that Stalin organized the expedition in the first place was needed to find the treasure of Tamerlane, which would help in the impending war against Hitler's Germany. In this interpretation of "coincidence" is quite logical, as the date of the excavation and the beginning of the war about must be the same. Bunich quotes from the book "Gold Party": "The assigned task of Stalin concentration of the gold, platinum and precious stones in the hands of the state continued to be carried out vigorously. If almost all the graves in the hopes of finding a gold watch or false teeth, then such events from time to time is not carried out on the territories of the Central Asian republics in Russia and Ukraine in the middle of the 30s were already plowed all the cemetery and opened.

Desecration of graves and mausoleums, according to the laws of Islam, is one of the most terrible crimes. And since the war of liberation in Central Asia, which broke out in the 20-ies, raged not subsided and was suppressed only in 1939, received a romantic name of "fighting Basmachi", then Stalin and his satraps on the ground is still enough mind not to give too much cause for irritation of the local population. But it was the turn of the Central Asian and shrines. Particularly attracted the greedy eyes of the nomenclature majestic mausoleum of Tamerlane in Samarkand. According to legend, archival documents confirmed the great Asian conqueror in his campaigns looted fabulous, great treasures, most of which were ordered to put him to the tomb. In May 1941, a large team of the Moscow NKVD, accompanied by experts of the Leningrad Hermitage, traveled to Samarkand for the opening of the tomb. Keeper of the memorial octogenarian Masood Alaev, horrified, showed visitors the cautionary inscription is engraved on the tomb in the year of death of Tamerlane. The inscription warned that anyone who dares to disturb the peace of the deceased ruler, and open the tomb, will release their own country the terrible demons of devastating war. In any case, to be safe, this was reported in Moscow. From there came the order: Alaeva arrested for spreading false rumors and panic, the tomb open immediately. June 19, 1941 a huge slab of green jade sarcophagus covering Tamerlane, was raised. TASS report about the event on the eve of the war reprinted in many newspapers. If this is a coincidence, it is very strange. "

Speaking about the coincidence of the time of burial, and the "first" of the Soviet victory, Kayumov somehow forgot about the victory in the Battle of Moscow, thereby adjusting history under its own story, giving it an aura of mystery. Thus, you can not blindly trust the film "Curse of Tamerlane", sometimes searching for similarities and mystical predetermination of where they may not be. So do with history is very dangerous: it may soon happen that it is opening the tomb of Tamerlane would be considered the cause of the Great Patriotic War. And this approach is damaging to history. However, in case of opening of the tomb is quite interesting and noteworthy. See it can be at different angles. The main thing is not to mix personal and do not head and share what was not in sight.
